Sean Ladd

Sean Ladd’s love affair with music started young—at just nine years old, he was already experimenting with his uncle’s synths, fascinated by the endless possibilities of sound. By 13, he had taken his first step into vinyl culture, buying Gary Numan’s “Friends Electric” and setting the foundation for what would become a lifelong obsession.
His first taste of dance music came in 1987 at a wild free party deep in the Wiltshire woods. The raw energy, the hypnotic beats—it was an awakening. From that moment, he was hooked.
In 1990, he got his first set of decks—Sound Lab belt-driven turntables—but quickly realized that true precision required the legendary Technics 1210s, which he finally got his hands on in 1993. From there, he cut his teeth at free parties across the South Coast, refining his skills behind the decks. His breakthrough came in 2001 when he landed his first major gig at Future Sound of Trance in Southampton.
Since then, Sean has played at some of the most iconic venues and festivals in the scene, including Ministry of Sound, Fabric, Shindig Festival, Boomtown, Face Bar Reading, and Global Gathering, to name just a few. Along the way, he’s shared the stage with legends like Mr. Scruff, Micky Finn, MJ Cole, Nicky Blackmarket, Markus Schulz, Aphrodite, Inja, and Hybrid Minds.
Known for his versatility, Sean moves seamlessly between House, Jungle, Breakbeat, and DnB, but his deepest passion lies in the raw energy of House and Jungle. Now, he’s taken things to the next level, teaming up with Glyn and Steve to create No Gimmicks—a project born out of pure love for dance music, with one mission: to keep the spirit of the underground alive.
